Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle

Technology marches forward. What appears insurmountable one decade, becomes commonplace the next. This has been demonstrated to great affect by the outstanding progress the automotive industry has made in overcoming technical challenges and reducing the cost and form factor of hydrogen fuel cells to the point where they can be economically mass produced.

The DOE targets a figure of $40k/W for an 80kW fuel cell stack in order for light-duty FCEVs to be cost-competitive with equivalent gasoline cars. Their most recently published analysis estimates achieving this target by 2020.

Here at HyGen, we’re truly excited by the impressive line up of new FCEVs and can’t wait to get our hands on more of these beauties!
